"Punch & Judy"
The passage of time produces some great irony. Once featured in many circus sideshows as a special feature for children,
the classic antics of these wonderful English hand puppets and their supporting cast is now looked upon as being far too
violent for impressionable young minds. Has anyone turned on their T.V. set lately? (I will now go to the blackboard and
write, "I will not editorialize on my website." 100 times).

Embalmed and uncalmed, in that order.

"Secrets of the Swamp"
This is the pictorialization of one of the many catch phrases that were used, either orally or on signage, around midway attractions.
"Secrets of the Swamp", "Nature in the Raw". These rather dramatic pronouncements could inspire all sorts of creepy or scandalous
visions in the minds of the patrons.

"Serpentina the Snake Girl & Barnum's Barnyard"
Right up there in popularity with the first banner shown in this gallery grouping, Serpentina is an evergreen
midway illusion. Freak animals, too, have enjoyed a long run as a standard fairgrounds attraction.
